Meet the Faces Behind NORRGANIC

Hej, we’re so glad you’re here!

We’re Tamara and Thorsten – lovers of both little and grand adventures, nature, and the magic of Northern Scandinavia. Sometimes we’re loud, sometimes we’re quiet, and maybe we’re a little quirky and crazy, too.

In 2022, we packed up our home and our lively rescue dog, Teddy, and set out to travel across Europe in a van. That was the plan, at least. But as life often goes, things took a different turn.

Our Journey – Living in Harmony with Nature

Our journey began in Scandinavia – and in many ways, it hasn’t really ended. The untouched landscapes and the way of life in the North deeply moved us. Particularly, the two cold winters we spent in northern Sweden were transformative, as we were enchanted by the magic and coziness of the season.

In Northern Scandinavia, the awareness of a slow, mindful, and sustainable lifestyle is deeply rooted. People live in harmony with nature, which is reflected in concepts like Hygge from Denmark, which is all about the art of coziness, or Lagom from Sweden, meaning “just the right amount” – not too much, not too little. In Norway, there’s Kos, a feeling of warmth and comfort that permeates every aspect of daily life. And then there’s Sisu, the Finnish concept of perseverance and inner strength, which particularly inspired us during the cold, dark winter months.

These philosophies touched us deeply and continue to guide us daily, both personally and in the design of our sustainable textiles at NORRGANIC.

The Birth of NORRGANIC

After coming in from the cold, there’s nothing better than wrapping yourself in soft, cozy clothing that gives you a sense of warmth. But during our travels, we realized that most of the clothes we wore only provided that feeling for a short while. After a few washes, they faded, became uncomfortable, and didn’t feel as good as they did on day one. That was frustrating – and we knew it could be done differently.

It was those intense, cold winter days in northern Sweden that ultimately inspired us. We experienced firsthand how important it is to wear clothing that keeps you warm yet feels comfortable against your skin. The Nordic lifestyle, with its balance of minimalism, comfort, and connection to nature, left a deep impression on us. The idea was born: Why not create clothing that combines this Nordic coziness with high-quality, long-lasting materials? Clothing that wraps you in comfort every day, without compromise.

We dove into researching textiles and quickly realized how many chemicals are often used in clothing – something we could no longer accept. Day by day, new ideas sparked. The drive to create something sustainable and comfortable fueled us. We wanted to design clothes that were not only good for your skin but also for the environment.

Our Vision – Sustainability and Quality in Harmony

We developed processes, built strong relationships with our suppliers, and infused our personalities into every product we created, testing each one for months. Some ideas were scrapped, while others were reimagined and restarted.

Today, our goal is clear: We aim to offer long-lasting, comfortable clothing that gives you a great feeling every day – without compromise. For us, it’s essential to use resources mindfully and create products of the highest quality that are in harmony with people, animals, and the environment.
